Two innovative demonstration systems from Hahn Automation Group showcase the potential of advanced automation in medical device manufacturing.
HAHN Automation Group exhibited at one of the largest MedTech tradeshows in the US, highlighting their latest demonstration machines. In this article, originally published by Machine Design, representatives from our global MedTech lead plant discuss the capabilities that the equipment represents.
This first system showcases a dual-sided assembly and test solution that integrates various technologies from MedTech device manufacturing and medical plastics material handling. It combines 13 complex processes into a single cell, taking up only 420ft³.
The second machine highlights the use of vision systems and robotics for handling precision components such as stents. This system performs a series of inspection processes including ID/OD measurement and vision-guided placement as well as part verification and orientation.
The two demonstration cells feature technology from industry leaders such as FESTO, Siemens, KEBA, Stäubli, AFAG, ARS FlexiBowl, Keyence, Cognex, Mecademic, Allen Bradley, and Schunk.
